We have had an influx of brides in lately who are planning June weddings and are looking for dresses. HELLO BRIDES IMPORTANT INFORMATION!! Unless you buy your gown at The National Chain, with off the rack dresses that hundreds of people have manhandled and tried on, you can not get them right away, designer gowns are special ordered. Facchianos special orders gowns based on your measurements just for you, it's new, it's clean, it's yours. These gowns take time to make, designers don't just have them sitting around waiting for you to pick them. They take at least 5 months to arrive in our store, and time to alter and fit. When you are planning a wedding give yourself a year or a year and a half to plan. I mean you waited your whole life what is one more year. lol Brides Magazine recommends purchasing a wedding gown at least 9-12 months from your wedding date. Or you will have to pay additional costs for rushing, plus shipping, and handling. And please when you go shopping be financially prepared to order because ALL Bridal Salons require at least half down to order, and depending on your wedding date you may have to order that day. Some gowns can be discontinued and when that happens they're gone forever. Sometimes there are gowns in stock but if you are not prepared to purchase, they could be gone the next day, other stores have access to them too. When you go out looking for a wedding dress, go with a purpose because all the consultants in the stores are trying their best to help you find the perfect gown. I have had brides myself that try on a dress and say I love it, they cry in it, and then they say but I don't have any money. That leaves me thinking how are you getting married and planning a wedding or getting your dress with no money?? Like my mom use to say "What are you going to buy that with your good looks?". I never go to the grocery store without any money, I wonder what the cashier would say after she checked all my groceries and I said "Oh I don't have any money?" She would think I have lost my mind. So future brides be prepared and give yourself enough time so there is less stress on you, both financially and mentally. This time should be the best time of your life, and picking your gown should be the most fun and exciting part of it!!

Was at Bridal Market in New York City last week and who did I run into but LORI and MONTY from Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta. Of course I was talking a mile a minute telling them how we love their show and love how they are so funny. And lo and behold I had my phone in my hand and practically forced them to take a picture with me, LOL!! Excuse my dress down day, but don't they look great :) Anyway I found some new and fabulous stuff for 2012. Also got a new line from David Tutera which will be exclusive at Facchianos. I have a feeling these dresses are going to be the next celebrity line, hopefully he will make an appearance sometime in the future. I am hoping ;)

Make sure to order your gown 9-12 months before the wedding. Most designer gowns take approximately 5 months to arrive. We at Facchianos special order all of our wedding dresses and usually do design changes for brides that want a look all their own. We can order gowns on a rush but that is at an additional cost. I got up at dawn this morning to watch the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. I was wide eyed as soon as I turned on my DVR, I wanted to watch it without commercials, LOL. I loved everything about it. The wedding at Westminster Abbey which I have visited in London (a place I lived for six months while attending the London College of Fashion), was so magnificent. When Kate arrived and stepped out of the car I noticed her gown was very reminiscent of Grace Kelly of Monaco's gown very befitting of a princess. It was nice that she did a traditional gown but I do wish she would have chosen a gown that was a little more modern to show her youthful spirit. She was beautiful in her long sleeved sheer Queen Anne neckline ball-gown. I knew that Kate would have to wear sleeves of some sort but didn't imagine that they would be long and so traditional. She did look stunning and what a tiny waist she has. I adored the fingertip lace edge veil with the blusher. The Cartier diamond tiara loaned from the Queen's crown jewels was to die for. We at Facchianos have lace veils and identical earrings as well as sheer sleeved lace gowns like Kates, so if you want to look like a princess call us for an appointment.

Just when we are excited about all the bridal gowns coming in now all the PROM is coming in. We are hurrying to open boxes, steam dresses, and get them out in the Facchianos showroom. The fabrics are beautiful, we have sequins, animal print and solids. SHOP EARLY, dresses need to be ordered to get different sizes and colors. Just came back from Florida for the Mon Cheri Academy. This was a bridal conference to learn more about the bridal business. We always want to learn the most we can to help brides that come to visit us. I learned new alterations techniques to make the gowns fit better. I also had the pleasure of meeting some Bridal gown and prom designers while I was there. I met James Clifford aka Jim Helm which was one of the highlights of the trip for me. I saw Tony Bowls again and got to talk more in depth with him about design and what inspires him. I also met Ivonne Dome and Martin Thornburg. Sophia Tolli was not able to attend since she was having her baby in Australia at the time. It was a great learning experience and just in time for the new wedding season. There will be lots of great new things come this year at Facchianos.

We had lots of weddings this week at Facchianos but one of our own, Rhonda Higgins married Randy Pattison. The entire staff hurried after work Saturday to make it to the ceremony. The Pattisons, Karen and Ray, Randy's parents, have been longtime clients of Facchianos. They always come in before the Taste of Tulsa to pick out a new formal dress and tuxedo for the event. Rhonda and Randy picked a very unique wedding venue, the Stokley Event Center. BTW This month there is an article in the GTR newspapers about unique wedding venues. Rhonda picked out all the wedding attire, while she was on the clock, lol. She outfitted the entire wedding party at Facchianos Bridal and Formal Attire. Rhonda wore a beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding dress, which we lovingly call the ROCK STAR DRESS. And she rocked in her dress!! Her bridesmaids wore strapless Black Bill Levkoff bridesmaid dresses. Her groom, his guys, and the fathers wore tuxedos provided by Facchianos. Randy and Rhonda's adorable daughter Abby wore a flowergirl dress in turquoise also from Facchianos. The accent colors were turquoise and yellow!! It was absolutely stunning, the delicious food was catered by Ricardos Restaurant in Tulsa and the fantastic music was provided by DJ Matt from DJ Connection Tulsa. The incredible tasting wedding cake and grooms cake were by Dee's in Owasso.

I met Tony Bowls at Market and snapped a picture with him. He was very nice and we carry two of his prom line. We talked about designing, I told him I studied Fashion Design in NY and London. He has a reality show coming out in the late Spring 2011. He is from Fort Smith, so I told him anytime he was in Oklahoma to stop by and see us!

A LITTLE BRIDAL HUMOR

Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her excitement...not even her parents' nasty divorce. Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the best-dressed mother-of-the-bride ever! A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new, young wife had bought the exact same dress! Jennifer asked her to exchange it, but she refused. "Absolutely not.!” I look like a million bucks in this dress, and I'm wearing it," she replied. Jennifer told her mother who graciously said, "Never mind, sweetheart. I'll get another dress. WOW!!! Is all I can say about the new Mrs. Candace Peltier!! What a beautiful picture she sent to us at Facchianos. You can see more at http://www.facchianos.com/ under our galleries. She had a Maggie Sottero gown that we redesigned by making it form fitted and we made the neckline a sweetheart. Only at Facchianos can you get the exact dress of your dreams, because if you cannot find it we can make it what you envisioned. When Candace came in with her soon to be sister in law Nicole (who was also a beautiful Facchianos bride) she wondered how to pick the right dress. I told her she would know. She narrowed it down to two dresses and we added accessories to both. She said she didn't know but everytime she tried on this particular Maggie Sottero dress with the long veil she would cry. She said how will I know? I said well Candace everytime you try this one on you cry, I think that is how you know? So long story short that is how she found her dress. Not every bride has tears but I always tell them you will know, you just feel it.

Wow the wedding I worked yesterday was full of beautiful people. It was the wedding of Ashley Bewley and Josh Prentice. The reason we have a service of delievering the gown and helping the bride is really selfish. We love to see the brides at the finale....the wedding. Ashley looked absolutely beautiful in a Facchianos Exclusive Sophia Tolli gown with a very intricate lace back (hence the reason I was needed). Josh was wearing a classic tuxedo also rented at Facchianos. Her mother Sherri Bewley wore a Jade Mother of the bride dress that was a portrait collar and was stunning on her. The wedding was at United Methodist Downtown, the photographer was Chris Humphrey, and videographer was Jim Passmore from Captain Video. Zack Downing was their DJ for their reception at Camp Loughridge. We want to thank Ashley and Josh and their families for being such great people, Facchianos will miss seeing them.

We got a great email with pictures from our bride Rebecca so I wanted to post it. She was a sweetheart, her gown is a Sophia Tolli from Mon Cheri and we ordered sleeves to match that draped on her shoulders.

Dear Jennifer,

It's been almost a year since I came into your store one Tuesday morning. By that evening I came out carrying my dream dress!
I had flown especially to Tulsa from France to look for my wedding dress, having been recommended your salon by my aunt Colleen. I have been looking at wedding dresses since I was 11 and new exactly what I wanted, and when I found it in your store it brought such joy that tears streamed down my face. I hand carried it though 6 DIFFERENT AIRPORTS TO GET IT BACK HERE. We had a wedding in a 4th century seaside castle on the french Rivera and everyone was amazed by my dress. I was able to get ready at one of the most prestigious French Hotels the Negresco and even there compliments about the dress pro fused from everyone's lips.

My greatest joy is that I will be able to wear it again as I have another wedding party in Tulsa next month!

Facchianos is having Christmas all over again. We are getting new things everyday so it is like Christmas when we open the new boxes. All new styles of one shoulder gowns, new bridal gowns in beautiful fabrics and all different unique styles. We just had some brides come back to pick up her gown from cleaning and preserving and she is sending us pictures so we will post them soon. What a weekend!!! We had more brides Saturday in one day then I have ever seen in out store. The Tulsa Wedding show was right down the street at the Renaissance Hotel on Highway 169, and I thought we would be busy just because of our location, but we had every room busy from the time we opened the doors at Facchianos at 71st and Garnett from 10AM until closing time. We had 18 new brides visit and try on gowns at our store. Some girls found the gown of their dreams on the first day out. One of my brides who is getting married in July came in just to make an appointment to come back at a later date and wound up trying on and finding not only her gown, but her veil, headpiece, headband, and accessories. Her mom cried when she saw it all put together. She then said to me, I didn't think I would be buying my gown today, but here I am getting a gown. She was sent to me from Destry at Glamour Artz who was at the wedding show, thanks Destry. I would also like to thank Jason from DJ Connection Tulsa who also sent brides directly to Facchianos. I would like to congratulate all our new brides that became Facchianos brides this weekend, we love having you and will do everything we can to make your wedding perfect!!

We just got some pictures of Ashley Gammon who got married at Bridal Creek which is owned by a former bride of Facchianos Kendra, she loved planning her wedding so much she opened a wedding venue. Ashley's dress was designed by Maggie Sottero, and we at Facchianos redesigned it and added a flip up collar that she loved on another gown. She looks stunning in this photo we snagged off of Facebook, we are on there so request to be our friend or be a fan of Facchianos. We started busy season 2010 and were crazy busy today with tons of newly engaged brides, we were very excited to have some new brides become part of our Facchianos family. This week new gowns have been coming and we know that lace is back and it is beautiful. Our first four gowns in this week were lace and they were big sellers. We are so excited when we get new gowns, it is like Christmas but earlier. The consultants get so excited to open the boxes, just like little kids, lol. I do have to say the selection of gowns we have for Spring 2010 are going to be fantastic. We are having a short week this week for Thanksgiving, we will be closed of course Thursday, and will reopen Friday and Saturday for a big weekend since people will be home for the holidays. Call for an appointment for Friday or Saturday and see all our new things. We want to congratulate Ashley Gammon who got married Saturday, we saw her and her mom Friday for a final fitting to help her mom learn how to lace her up, her mom loved her redesigned gown that had a cool Facchianos designed collar. The girls asked if they could dress in Orange and Black on Saturday for Halloween, everyone looked very festive, except me, I didn't own anything Orange so I stuck with the Black and White uniform, lol. We had the window decorated in Orange and Black too. We did have a great October, I can't believe how many weddings were every weekend, booked solid. We want to congratulate Erin McCall, Valerie Cain, and Mandy Vaughn, they got married the 24th of October and we hope to see pictures soon. I also want to congratulate our brides from this past weekend AnnDee went and coordinated Ashley Heider's wedding at the Petroleum Club and went off without a hitch. Ashley was wearing an original design from Facchianos that was redesigned just for her, we call it "Anniston", she accented the gown with a beautiful Cathedral veil to match. Then Rachel was off to Leslie Barnard's wedding the same day and her's was great as well. Her wedding was at Trinity Episcopal downtown. Her gown was a Sophia Tolli gown called "Vivienne" and we did lots of french bustles on the train which turned the gown into a bubble hem in the back. I was pretty proud of that bustle. We always like to make unique designed bustles that are functional for moving around at the reception. When we coordinate the weddings it thrills us to see the final product of all the planning we've been a part of. Here are some brides that just sent us pictures of themselves and we are so glad to see how beautiful they look. The bride on the porch is Brooke and our other lovely bride is all the way from Rio in Brazil, Daniella, aren't they both absolutely stunning? We hope they are as happy with us as we were to help them.

Wow! Facchianos is so excited we have found so many brides their gowns this month. We want to congratulate Kristen who became our newest Facchianos bride just yesterday. I was running out but was so glad to meet her. I also want to congratulate Annalee Allen and thank her great family for being so great to work with. Rachel coordinated her wedding and said it was beautiful, so we cannot wait to get some pictures. We have updated our Facchianos website and are excited at what we can do by doing our own website. We just wanted to thank our brides and grooms from this past weekend. We are so happy to have been able to help them with all of their weddings needs. We want to thank Mandi Crosslin and Jonathan Martin, Amanda Atkins and Tyler Payne, Emily Turner and Tad Colburn, and one of our especially favorite couples Natalie Gruenberg and Mark Haggard, they said we reminded them of the Store on "Say Yes to the dress". They didn't even know that is why Facchianos was started, because the owner bought her gown there 17 years ago for her wedding and had the best wedding experience,and she wanted to bring that experience to Tulsa. Facchianos has been so busy this month! We have had so many things going on! With the wedding show behind us we have been swamped with new excited brides getting married next year! We are thrilled to be able to help them with all of the things that they need, since we do everything in one place. We have been helping them put together the whole look for their wedding. First we select the gown, then we match the bridesmaids, then the tuxes with the matching bridesmaid colors. Mom's usually like to come back after and we select the mother of the bride and mother of the groom dresses. WOW! WHAT a busy wedding week, we had big weddings in town and out of town. Rachel traveled to Fort Smith to do the wedding of Courtney Beaty. Her gown was a georgeous gown designed here at Facchianos. She also got all her bridesmaids and mothers dress here. The wedding was coordinated through Facchianos and went off brilliantly. Thanks Rachel! AnnDee our consultant who had her baby and is on maternity leave came back to do Jennifer Stretch's wedding at McBirney Mansion in Tulsa. She said the entire wedding party looked spectacular, all dressed by Facchianos even down to the tuxes. Jennifer's gown was a gown is from our Celebrity collection called "Anniston" designed right here at Facchianos Bridal and Formal Attire. We will miss our brides from this weekend they are really like family.

"The Gown". I always tell brides that the smallest percentage of the wedding budget goes to the one thing that has the most impact, "The Gown". It even takes on a life of it's own, when the bride decides she says this is "The Gown". We at the salon refer to each brides as "The Gown". when people remember the wedding, yes the food was great, the music was good, but did you see how beautiful the bride was in "The Gown". We helped last week with Jessica Jeter's wedding, Rachel our manager delivered her gown and bridesmaid dresses and said she looked absolutely stunning. She said her hair was the best updo she has ever seen. We wish Jessica well with her new job in the fall and I will personally miss her at Peter's Elementary. We also married off Laronda Thompson, pictured on right, and she sent us a wedding photo from her professional Bridal shoot with Steve McKinney Photography in Tulsa. Steve provided her with a makeup artist and hairdresser, she looked awesome. Our tuxes are also in full swing. We made sure that all the weddings for last week and this week fit perfectly and all the guys looked great! Our tuxes are competitively priced but exceed all others in the fit! Had a busy weekend at Facchianos, lots of wedding, we helped with two wedding parties. Delivered wedding gowns and bridesmaids for Allison Lindsley's wedding and for Cate Drummonds wedding. The weather was beautiful and both brides were stunning. I (Jennifer) was at Cate's wedding and ran into Toni from Toni's Flowers located at 3525 South Harvard, in Tulsa.
